98.1 FreeFM – World Class Rock

After many long years of planning and work, and some many months of design and coding, 98.1 FreeFM is now on air and online. Visit the website I helped create at http://981freefm.ca.

As part of the FreeFM interactive team, I assisted in the design, and built much of the WordPress plugins and functionality required. The website runs on the latest WordPress version (3.1.4 at the time of writing) and makes use of community plugins, in house developed plugins, custom post types, and custom widgets. The websites most notable features include an simple events structure, custom “On Air Now” widget that receives data from the studios, and a complex post type for “DJs & Shows” pages.

You can listen to the stream live online or via the Blackburn Radio iPhone, Android, and Blackberry applications (available at the respective app stores).
